
The cart was released in 1993, at the height of the Genesis' popularity, so it wasn't some rushed, low budget throw-away game, except it seemed that way to Americans because the assertion that "Golden Axe three was only released digitally back in the day" only applies to the United States when it was finally made available in the US via the Sega Channel in 1995. Golden Axe III was a full retail cartridge release in Japan and its package clearly states and shows it's a two-player game. That post is just the blind leading the blind, spreading disinformation amongst themselves. So you reference a post answered by people who are just as wrong as you are.
